Original surface reclaimed Heart Pine retains its weathered surface and the other signature qualities of industrial and natural history – saw marks, nail holes and sound stress cracks. But below the surface, the grain represents the hardest and strongest of the Southern Pines and a quality of wood that is not available today, outside of the woods that are salvaged from dismantled 19th and early 20th c. warehouses, factories and mills. It grew in long unbroken tracts from the Carolinas to Texas and south to Florida.
