Resurfaced pine is a consistently light brown and even toned softwood. The species was popular in the Northeast through the Colonial era and into the mid-1800’s. Re-sawn largely from the joists and timbers of these historical structures, the aged woods have often acquired occasional stress cracks, nail holes and tonal variation. The planks are often cut wide and long, offering a bold and timeless quality, often to environments that seek to strike a balance between modern and traditional design. So its making a comeback as a versatile and widely used American wood for a range of other applications, from flooring, paneling and furniture to cabinetry and shelving.
