White oak can be found in pure lots and is also extracted from the larger collection of barn timbers. White oak often is lighter in tone than red oak and is moderately harder. The characteristic white oak figure and grain is often available in wider and longer plank profiles. White oak is often utilised as an exterior wood, and while that may also be true for its reclaimed variety, the character of the wood, both aesthetic and structural, often make it more valued for interior applications or exterior covered spaces.
